Volcanic Sunset

My usual sunset pictures have some aircraft contrails to make the picture interesting - nothing this evening!

LOVELY!!! When we lived in Alaska a volcano erupted during the summer--You could not have painted a sky any more beautiful--The clean up of the ash however was a whole other topic!

There won't be many aircraft in the sky today, according to what I've heard in the news! The skies are clear for once.
Your red sky is incredible!

Beautiful! Unfortunately we have cloud, wind and rain in Orkney so no sunsets for us, volcanic or otherwise - sigh..... I shall enjoy yours all the more though!

A bit of volcanic dust does make a difference to the sunsets, doesn't it?

What a fantastic sunset. We haven't had anything as dramatic as that in Cumbria. It looks like all the volcanic ash is down you're way.
Thanks for your support with my new venture in to blogging. It's really exciting to read everyone's blogs and yours is a real inspiration.
Thanks

Interesting to see it from the "sunrise side".

Here in NZ the most recent we saw was from was smoke high up from the terrible bushfires last year in Australia. Our sunsets had very strange colour hues. Nothing compared to what those in Victoria and South Aus had to deal and cope with.

Wasn't it great NOT to see vapour trails for a while?

(Sorry about the above, made a mistake!)
