Colourful Compost

The heavy rain overnight melted almost all the snow and left the landscape looking rather drab and bedraggled - all except for the compost heap which is a riot of colour!

"Ozmosis"

When my Brother, Jamie, visited us last November (he lives in Australia) he packed in his suitcase a couple of leafy twigs from his garden to start off our compost heap! Husband is seen here removing the top layer in preparation to dig out the heap onto the veg garden.

You can see the result - (oops, a lot of rose twigs, naughty me adding them to the heap over the summer).
If you like puppies please visit my brother's blog (see link above).

Guard Dog?

For last few days, since the cows ate our apple tree and half the compost , we have suggested to Rescue Dog that he takes up position near the remaining apple tree and pretend to be a big fierce guard dog. Now that the strawberries have finished, he having eaten half of them, there is nothing for him to do! His big ears flapped up into the 'radar position' - just as he was thinking he could perhaps look a teensy weensy bit fierce - the cows were taken away into the next field! Whew what a relief for Rescue Dog.
