We Won! We Won! We Won!

Would you believe it? Thousands wouldn't! We actually won the village christmas quiz! This event is held annually in the village hall and about 80 people attended. Our team was made up of Husband's golf friends and their wives - we are all old friends. I have to admit the man we have to thank for our win is sitting in the photo above with his back to you in the green/grey sweater - he knew just about everything there is to know about pop music! (How sad is that?)

Before the quiz we invited this mighty team to a "high tea" at our place. We fed them brain food and plenty of liquid refreshments - it seems to have done the trick.

The trusty quizmaster who puts up with some of us at our pub quiz, suitably dressed in a splendid waistcoat and matching hat, officiated for the occasion and suffered the same kind of barracking that he usually gets from us locals. Nothing changes!

Gill - we won an enormous christmas hamper. The victorious team members came back to our house and we divide the spoils between us. We also decided to donate £40.00 towards the village hall because a large electrcity bill was having to be paid. Apparently the Electricity Board (unable to get in to read the meter) had estimated the use of electricity for the past two years and had seriously underestimated the quarterly bills. Iask myself why the electricity people did not write to the person in charge of the hall for him to read the meter - do they not know that village halls are not domestic residences?

Well that was jolly generous of you...why is it that these borporations are so incompetent...and the results always fall on us?
