Due to downsizing to a new-build house we have no storage space - we have been good and followed builders' instructions not to store anything in the loft (flattening of insulation). So this year our Christmas decoration effort is a very small flatpack tree!!!!!
All you arty-tarty people out there please suggest how I can make a good table decoration out of fruits and leaves. Thanks in advance (hopefully).

Buy a Homes and Grdens magasine (or similar) they always have loads of ideas!
At least your tree will not leave any mess!
That is sad Lindsay.
If you have a cake stand, pile some baubles onto it and intersperse with fruit. If you have 2 or even 3 cake stands, preferably different sizes, you could stand one on top of the other and do similar. You could use anything on them really, greenery, mini crackers, nuts etc. Presumably though you won't have 3 stands as you have downsized.
Or you could use a red or gold plate (charger), put a tall candle in the centre and surround with greenery or any of the above. Would suggest you don't light the candle, or keep a careful eye on it if you do.
A large plain glass vase filled with baubles or cones, nuts etc.
Most of the "Christmas" greenery will survive without water for quite a while.
As Suburbia said though you could buy a magazine for inspiration.
Good luck.

I think it's very pretty Lindsay!
Also, surfing the net is a brilliant way of finding things like that. Good luck!
Have you a mirror? I put one flat in middle of table, plonk some little oranges on it, with walnuts, and any greenery I like out of garden, and then stick a couple of candles amongst it all. Looks gorgeous, and mirror reflects it all back up.
There is so much christmas stuff going cheap this year. Go to your local garden nursery and get a few bargains. Throw them on table too!
Have fun whatever you do!
thats a pretty tree, very simple......
