Husband is back from his canalside walking trip. I rather gather a lot of time was spent in towpath tea rooms. I think the barge owner in the above photo has the right idea. If you click and enlarge the photo you will see he is lazing the day away in the sun with a cup of coffee, a fishing rod and the occasional ice cream sale!

Which canal is this, do you know? We used to travel barge hol's a few years back. It was fun, but then I got so rickety I couldn't jump on and off any more!
Love Granny
Now that's the way to do business:-)
Granny - Husband walked The Kennet & Avon Canal. He has walked most canals in the UK as well as long distance walks, eg. The West Highland Way which took 8 days.
We used to love canal holidays but like you, being crocked up with wonky knees, means we cannot go any more.
Lovely way to spend a holiday and that man relaxing by his barge has the right idea!
There's a man with an excellent plan.
The West Highland Way is a joy - especially when you collapse into a pub with decent real ale at the end in Fort William.
A relaxing day in the Spring sunshine for him.
Of course, being Mickle, I love the cts holding the barge doors open!
Huggles, xxx
That's the life - sensible man. A
That's definitely the way to do it, with coffee and icecream!
