Iron Horses and . . . . . . . . . .

Their riders !!!
We love the atmosphere, smell, heat and smoke of the steam engines - they were showing off at their annual visit to Kemble.

We watched the static displays - sawing wood for this engine and their team.

More to come (for those of you not bored by now?)

I can remember steam engines and steam rollers!
Apparently I was in my pram when my cousin who was pushing me, accidently let go & the pram went right in front of an approaching steam roller. Some quick witted person rescued it in time, otherwise I would not be sitting writing this today!
Good pictures!

We have spent many a happy hour amongst steam engines of one sort or another. I just love the size and power of them - and can remember steam rollers and the local branch line when steam engines used to pull in every Saturday lunch time - must be older than I look!!

You've brought back happy childhood memories of going to the big steam engine show at Maramarua.

My favourite part was watching the huge threshing machine and the big strap running from the traction engine.
