Last night the temperature dropped to minus 8.8C and another day below freezing is forecast. In compensation we have a chocolate box blue sky and sunshine. I took a walk in the fields listening to the sound of the snow crunching beneath my (large) feet - I love that sound! My second best sound is of horses contentedly munching hay!

Very cold and very pretty but I'm still doing my birdwatching from behind glass.
Our birds have a bit of ancient meringue - but it doesn't seem as popular as your apple crumble!
I always think of my grandad when I see a blackbird. He raised one from a chick once, snuggled under the headgerow underneath the nest he fell out of. it returned every year after that for ages, or so he said. It may have been a different one each year, but still it gave him a lot of pleasure.
Lucky blackbirds - I love apple crumble!
Hope you are both keeping warm and cosy in that doozie of a cold snap.
There would never be any apple crumble left for the birds in this house!
Lovely blackbird photo ! Apple Crumble does sound tastier than fat balls .He'll be back year after year too .
