This is what I have - or rather I call it this! I really am very stupid - I never seem to know which direction I am facing. Obviously I know our garden is a north facing one and so on. I am flummoxed if I see a sign on a motorway giving the option The South or The North etc. Husband says he could not exist in the world if he did not know which way he was facing! How about you?

Haven't got a clue. And when they say 'west bound' on the M25 I'm stumped. It's a circle isn't it?
As long as the sun is in the sky I can work out which way I am facing but we have had so many cloudy days recently that I am beginning to feel lost.
I get lost in a parking lot, in a motel or hotel lobby or hallway...I understand you perfectly!

I love knowing where I am. Trouble is... I am always sure I am right but am invariably not. Dammit.
If someone says turn left I often turn right! I have to think hard about it to get it right the first time.
I love knowing where I am but underwater I lose all sense of direction. Not good to say the least. Knowing where the boat is and how to get back to it is hugely important!
I'm one of those people that are directionally challenged too. I know which way is up and which way is down. If you want to know where north is DON'T ask ME!
Our household is identical. I know which direction I am facing wherever I am and intuitively get from A to B. My wife Jo goes into a and 'I hate road-sign-makers' mode when she sees an A48 N / A48 S option at a junction. And, like DayPhoto she can get lost in a parking lot.
I used to give her detailed instructions on how to get to a place, forgetting that in her case she couldn't retrace her steps. She'd go missing for days!
I have spent over twenty years trying to teach her and have concluded that being geographically challenged is not something one can change.

Seems there a lot of people out there who are a bit muddled - hope we don't all travel at the same time down the M4!
I'll be the odd one out - I'm pretty good with directions and mapreading and it drives me insane to not know where I am on a map, or what direction I am facing. I can invariably tell if I am going in the wrong direction and those 'circle' type roads annoy me when the make you go west in order to be heading north.
I too have a dreadful sense of direction. I was baffled travelling around Europe and London because the sun was "in the wrong place" for this downunder bred girl.
Luckily Wellington is very hilly so I nearly always know where I am. Yep, I either have to head up or down.
I do have a problem with direction myself! I usually get there in the end, but it isn't easy!
I have to think hard about which is left & which is right!
I do OK with directions just so long it is daylight, I have a real problem when it's dark. My daughter bought me a nice GPS for Christmas, so I'm hoping even the night driving, won't be an issue.

Thanks all for your comments - it seems most of us ladies have a bit of a problem with our sense of direction. Linda - I definitely know my up from my down!!
