Have come back from really good holiday to find Rescue Dog very unexpectedly in a terminal condition - he was only six. With the help of our kind vet we came to the ultimate decision to end his life. Thought I ought to write about it as Rescue Dog has featured a lot on my blog - by the way - his name was Taz after Tazmanian Devils who have large ears.

oh Lindsay, I'm so sorry. I know that Taz was such a big part of your lives and such a lovely dog. It must have been a terrible decision for you but I'm sure you made the right one. No dog should have to suffer a minute more than necessary.
I really am so very sorry to hear this news. Thinking of you.
Oh Lindsay, no.....
I am so very sorry. It's the hardest decision that we as pet owners ever have to make and I know you would have not taken it lightly.
My thoughts are with you tonight
So sorry to read about Rescue Dog/Taz. I've been following your escapades for awhile though I don't often comment.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I've been there myself so I know how hard it is.
Oh Lindsay, I'm very, very sorry to hear about Rescue Dog...we have a mongrel dog "Ed" who came with us from Egypt. He is 10 at the moment and I know we will be so choked when that moment comes.
Huge hugs, Hadriana xx
I too am very sorry to hear about Taz. Not a nice thing to have to deal with when you got home.
Oh no! Lindsay, I am so sorry. What a horrid thing to greet you on your return form holiday. Having had to make the decision for Harvey only last year I am well aware of the pain. It is good to know though that Rescue Dog had a chance to enjoy life with you even if it were only for a short time.
Am so very sorry. I read your comment over on Liz's blog an being a dog owner myself wanted to pop over and give you a hug. I lost my long time companion, Max, a rescued german shepherd a couple of years ago. I still miss him.
Nice to meet you, shame about the circumstances.
Dxx
Lindsay - so sorry to hear about Rescue Dog. It's awful having to make that decision, even when you know it is the right one. Only six too but at least he had a good home with you. Thinking of you.
A x
So sorry, Lindsay. I'm sure he had a fantastic six years with you and you did the right - and only - thing. Remember all your happy times xx
So, so sorry to hear about Rescue Dog. Not an easy decision I'm sure but it is the one thing we can do out of love and kindness for our animal companions.
With best wishes.
